"Dirty" demo

First 60 seconds: The sequence itself.

The rest: Ripping away with insane pitch wheel bends. ;)

The 6HD continues to amaze me considering what I can do with it. I could never get this kind of lead expressiveness on my old Ensoniq MR-61 or SQ-1+. No disrespect to Ensoniq workstations intended, I loved those synths (I still break out the SQ-1+ from time to time), but with the Fusion it's almost too easy to get those cool monster lead sounds. :)

Thanks for the positive comments, much appreciated as always.

And to those wondering, the lead sound is stock sound "Slick Lead" ROM Preset 3 K-1. The preset pitch wheel range is 12 semitones (editable on any sound).

crgl: Yes, the 6HD and 8HD can do that. The monophonic ripper sounds on the 6 (what I have) are definitely a force to be reckoned with.

SEA: Much thanks for the positive comments - I suppose we put Tampa on the map?

Spirithunter: I'm genuinely happy that people are excited about the Fusion after hearing a small taste of what can be accomplished with it.

Impressive! Is it the Fusion, or is it you? Or both?

What is the rythmic sound in the beginning? (the G + fifths) ? How do you control the filter? Velocity based or using the controls?

Both. The sequence was manually programmed first. The lead sound is played "live". The rhythm sound you hear is a stock ROM sound called "Orange Meanie" (K-7) sent thru a distortion effects bus and arpeggiated. By default the sound is in fifths.

These are the settings @ 101bpm:

This is an astounding demo. I love the crazy pitch bends, very fluid. Sounds like it was done sliding on a ribbon, but it was just the wheel. Incredible "shredding" as well. And all that on a stock preset!

Thanks. :)

You're not the first to think it was a ribbon controller for the lead sound. I can confirm that no, it's not. It's just the standard pitch wheel using full octave bends - on a stock preset. ;)

wicked song. Good to know I'm not the only freak who sets pitch bend ranges to a whole octave and goes nuts whammy pedal style
